About Us
La Gioventù, aka L.A.G., is a dynamic, professional event band and show orchestra led by Montreal pianist and keyboardist Louis Toteda, alongside powerhouse vocalist Alma Faye Brooks.
Both Alma and Louis are signed to the worldwide record labels CASABLANCA and UNIDISC, continuing a long legacy of international recognition. The duo continues to release new music, including their latest single “Dreams Don’t Only Happen on Christmas” and a modern remake of the classic hit from Biocelli, “Con Te Partiro”. All releases are available across major social media and streaming platforms. Alma brings a versatile jazz repertoire inspired by icons such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Frank Sinatra, and George Gershwin.
Since 1979, L.A.G. has delivered high-energy, polished performances for top-tier events. Choose from duos, trios, quartets, or a full 10-piece orchestra, tailored to fit the vibe and scale of any occasion : from corporate galas to year-end celebrations and cocktail events.

The radiant and soulful Alma Faye Brooks American-born and Canadian-raised made her debut with a powerful horn-driven track titled “Stop, I Don’t Need No Sympathy” , released on RCA Records as a 12″ single.
Her momentum continued with the internationally recognized album Doin’ It, released on the iconic Casablanca Records label. Alma co-wrote the album, showcasing both her songwriting talent and unmistakable voice. One of her standout tracks, “It’s Over” , remains a fan favourite.
A proud dual citizen of the United States and Canada, Alma Faye Brooks is a two-time Juno Award nominee (1978 and 1980), and continues to charm audiences with her infectious energy and deep love of music.
Her passion spans across genres, and her joy for performing is as vibrant as ever-leaving smiles, joy, and groove wherever she goes.

Louis Toteda
Louis Toteda, pianist, keyboard player formerly with the band “Nightlife Unlimited” was also signed with Casablanca and RCA Records in the 70’s and 80’s. The Canadian outfit burst on the scene in 1979 with “Disco Choo Choo.” After the Unidisc 12″ single began receiving U.S. club play Casablanca Records stepped in and licensed the album for release.
Now founder and director of the accomplished “Orchestra La Gioventu”, from 1979 till today, Louis weaves a versatile format covering a wide range of musical styles from Jazz to R&B to Afro-Cuban influences.
Today, Alma Faye Brooks and Louis are currently collaborating on original material.
